The Participation Works Network for England (PWNE) is part of Participation Works, which are offering a range of resources, tools and training and consultancy sessions free of charge to Third Sector organisations to help them fully involve with children and young people in all decisions that affect their lives. The Network exists to enable practitioners to support one another, share best practices and outcomes of the participation of children and young people. The Network is further supported by 9 Regional Network developemt programmes.
The Participation Works service aims to support voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, who want to provide a voice for children and young people in decisions that affect their lives, including the Arts and Music arena. The involvement of children and young people is beneficial when designing, delivering and evaluating services aimed at young people that are successful and effective in meeting their needs.
Participation Works is a consortium which is made up six national children’s & young people’s agencies including: the British Youth Council (BYC), Children’s Rights Alliance for England (CRAE), National Children’s Bureau (NCB), The National Youth Agency (NYA), National Council for Voluntary Youth Services (NCVYS) and Save the Children-England.
They have collectively developed a comprehensive programme of activities and resources on participation to assist third sector organisations which include, workshops, training sessions and supportive practitioner networks, designed to support organisations and practitioners who work with children and young people between the ages of 10-25 years old.
Practitioners and organisations can access a wide range of comprehensive resources and information from our Online Gateway about policy and rights, practice, networks, training opportunities and supporting materials.
