01.02.2007

The UK Youth Parliament has launched a new newsletter called Debatable. Written by MYPs and Deputy MYPs, the purpose of the newsletter is to generate political debate, to inform decision makers of the issues which matter most to young people, and to challenge the negative portrayal of young people in the media by showcasing the positive work young people are doing around the UK.
This first edition contains articles about the execution of Saddam Hussein, the Big Brother racism row, knife and gun crime and all the latest news from the world of UKYP.
Tom Lodziak, UKYP Central Services Co-ordinator, said “The feedback so far has been fantastic, which is a reflection of the hard work MYPs have put in to this project. We want Debatable to be read by as many young people as possible and believe it is a great tool to get young people’s views across to decision makers.”
Debatable will be published quarterly and is free to download from the UKYP website.
